We’re really sorry and sad to report sistanistas will be going on a bit of a hiatus. We’re sure you’ve noticed a lack of posts recently, and it’s just been a little hectic to maintain regular, quality posts plus everything else. We don’t want to do anything halfway, so when we can regain some organization, we’ll be back. This isn’t goodbye, we promise! Thanks for being such loyal readers, and we’ve really gotten some great feedback over the past few months from a number of you.

Missoni Mileage

I’ve gotten a ton out of this Missoni X Target dress. I wore it over the summer without anything underneath or over it, even though it is a sweater dress. I’ve layered cardigans over it in the past, and I really liked the idea of wearing a button-up shirt to add a little polish to it. I’m trying to think of other ways to wear it; anyone have any ideas?

Fur + Bling

I recently went to Pink Slip Boutique‘s fashion show, and this is the outfit I wore as I felt it was fun for the show yet still reasonably professional. I got this vest two years ago, which seems crazy now, but it is a staple in my winter wardrobe. I’ve dressed it up and down, and this time I went with jeans and thermal tee to stay casual, but amped it up with a necklace that sometimes feels a bit too fancy but I’m just whatever I don’t care I like it bye. You know?

Election Day Wear

This was my Election Day outfit. I always forget how wide-legged these pants are until I am photographed in them, but I like the chic professional vibe they give off, especially when paired with a girly comfy tee and bold cardigan to pull it all together. I hope you all voted last week, and regardless of if you were happy or not with the results. Remember we still live in the best country around :) I’ve been seeing so much negativity and overreactions, and the fact we can even have these differing opinions freely is a huge right, mmk? End of my rant. Did you guys plan out what you wore for Election Day?

Mani Monday: Number One Polish

This is my absolute favorite nail polish. It’s Jade Is The New Black by OPI from a few fall collections back. The formula is spot on: highly pigmented but not too thick and only requires about 2 coats for full opacity. It could be a one-coater, but two evens everything out. It’s the perfect green teal and is super flattering on my skin tone. I can never stop looking at my nails when I wear it.

Always Sunny

Just because it’s colder out doesn’t mean you can’t wear brighter colors. I paired my go-to pencil skirt (the grey one this time) with a sunny yellow sweater. I’m always a fan of turquoise and yellow pairings, so I went with one of my favorite pair of earrings. I finished it off with nude pointy-toe flats, as I am in love with them for elongating my legs. I am not in love with them not being broken in as I got horrible blisters this day, but I mean… beauty is pain? I guess?
